NTCA Warns Against Morand-Ganjal Irrigation Project
Recently, the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) warned that the Morand-Ganjal Irrigation Project in Madhya Pradesh will submerge vital tiger habitats, disrupting the ecological connectivity between Satpura and Melghat Tiger Reserves.
Morand-Ganjal Irrigation Project
- A dam-based irrigation project intended to enhance agricultural productivity in Madhya Pradesh.
- The Morand and Ganjal Rivers, where dams will be constructed.
- The project will cover Hoshangabad, Betul, Harda, and Khandwa districts.
