Answer: Recently central government approved the comprehensive extension of PM-KISAN scheme by allowing all land holding eligible farmer families (subject to existing exclusion criteria) irrespective of the size of their landholding to avail the benefits of the scheme. Earlier provision was to provide an income support of Rs.6000/- per year in three equal installments to small and marginal farmer families having combined land holding/ownership of upto 2 hectares.
Benefits
- Around 14.5 crore small and marginal farmer families are expected to benefit from this with only assured supplemental income.
