World Mental Health Report 2022
On 17th June, 2022, the World Health Organisation (WHO) released a report titled ‘World Mental Health Report: Transforming Mental Health For All’.
Major Findings
- Rising Cases: Mental illness had spiked across the world due to COVID and related restrictions. Those living in conflict zones were affected even more, with one in five suffering from mental health issues. Depression and anxiety rose by 25% in the first year of the coronavirus pandemic.
- Causes of Depression: Childhood sexual abuse and bullying were common causes of depression.
- Inadequate Allocation in Health Budget: Only 2% of national health budgets and less than 1% of all international ....
