Resolve Tibet Act
- On 12th June, 2024, the United States Congress passed the Resolve Tibet Act to address Tibetan issues with assertiveness.
- It authorizes funds to combat Chinese disinformation about Tibet's history and institutions, including the Dalai Lama.
- Urges China to engage in direct, unconditional dialogue with the Dalai Lama and Tibetan leaders for conflict resolution.
- Affirms Tibetan people's right to self-determination and human rights under international covenants.
- It amends the Tibetan Policy Act (TPA) to clarify geographic definitions of the Tibetan Autonomous Region.
