Adverse Impact of Plastic Production on Health and Climate
According to a recent study led by ETH Zurich, a public research university, the impact of plastic on climate and health is far greater than previously thought due to the increased use of coal.

- Particulate Matter Health Footprint: Plastic production accounted for 96 per cent of the particulate matter health footprint. Half of this was attributed to combustion of coal.
- Particulate Air Pollution: Between 1995 and 2015, the global health footprint of plastics from fine particulate air pollution increased by 70 per cent.
