Paraquat Herbicide

Recently, the Telangana Government issued a Government Order banning the manufacture, sale, distribution and use of Paraquat to protect farmers and public health.

• Paraquat is a highly toxic, fast-acting, non-selective contact herbicide used to control weeds by destroying green plant tissues on contact.
• It is marketed globally under brand names such as Gramoxone and has been widely used for rapid field clearing.
