India’s long coastline faces recurrent tropical cyclones from both the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. While the Bay of Bengal accounts for nearly 80% of India’s cyclones, changing sea surface temperatures and climatic shifts have increased the frequency of intense cyclones in the Arabian Sea as well.
