Answer: At present, India hosts 16% of the world’s population with only 2.45% of the global surface area and 4% water resources. So, the ecosystem assessments pointed out that the population explosion would irreversibly impact India’s environment and natural resource base and limit the next generation’s entitlement and progress. Therefore, the government should take measures to control the population.
