Cashless Treatment of Road Accident Victims Scheme, 2025
On 5th May 2025, the Central government launched a groundbreaking cashless treatment scheme for road accident victims across the country, ensuring swift and hassle-free medical care for those affected.
- The scheme builds on a pilot program launched on March 14, 2024 which has since been expanded to include Assam, Punjab, Haryana, and Puducherry.
About the Scheme
- Legal Backing: The scheme is mandated under Section 162 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, ensuring cashless treatment for accident victims.
- Cash Eligibility: Under the scheme, any individual injured in a road accident involving a motor vehicle on any public road in India will be eligible ....
