National Review of MGNREGA Implementation
On 19th May 2025, the NREGA Sangharsh Morcha (NSM) released a new national report, titled “The Missing Work: A National Review of MGNREGA Implementation (FY 2024–25)”, compiled by LibTech India.
Key Insights
- Increase in Registered Households: 8.6% increase in registered households in FY 2024-25. Although this did not result in improved employment.
- Decline in Persondays: There was a 7.1% decline in persondays generated (from 288.83 to 268.44 crore) and a 4.3% drop in average employment days per household.
- 100 Days of Work: Only 7% of households completed 100 days of work, down from 7.6% in FY 2023-24.
