On 7th May 2025, the Global Methane Tracker 2025 was released by the International Energy Agency (IEA).
- It presents a comprehensive assessment of global methane emissions, particularly those related to the energy sector.

- Methane is responsible for about 30% of the global temperature rise since the Industrial Revolution.
- Atmospheric methane levels are growing faster than other greenhouse gases, now 2.5 times higher than pre-industrial levels.

- Waste sectors
