NITI Aayog Report on Enhancing Competitiveness of MSMEs in India
On 2nd May 2025, NITI Aayog released the report on ‘Enhancing MSMEs Competitiveness in India’. The report, prepared in collaboration with the Institute for Competitiveness (IFC), presents a detailed blueprint for unlocking the immense potential of India’s Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through systemic reforms in financing, skilling, innovation and market access.
Major Highlights
- Economic Impact & Employment: MSMEs account for 29.2% of India’s GDP and provide employment to over 120 million people, with sectors like textiles being heavily reliant on MSMEs.
