Sample Registration System Statistical Report 2024
On 20th May 2026, the Office of the Registrar General & Census Commissioner released the Sample Registration System (SRS) Statistical Report 2024, documenting an accelerating demographic transition across India.
Major Findings of SRS Statistical Report 2024
Crude Birth Rate (CBR)
- CBR at the National level during 2024 stands at 18.3 exhibiting a decline of 0.1 points over 2023.
- Among the bigger States/UTs, the maximum CBR has been reported in Bihar (26.8) and the minimum in Kerala (11.1).
- There has been a decline of 1.4 points in the CBR for the Country from 2019 to 2024.
