Role of Climate Variability in Shaping Poverty in India
A recent study published by the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) in April 2026, highlights the growing link between climate change and poverty in India.
- The study, based on 593 districts across 21 states, finds that climate shocks such as rising temperatures, erratic rainfall, floods, and droughts significantly increase poverty levels.
