Amendments to IAS Cadre Rules
On 12th January, 2022, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) proposed amendments to the IAS (Cadre) Rules, which would enable it to post IAS officers on central deputation, bypassing reservations of state governments.
Present Deputation Rule
- Central deputation in the Indian Administrative Service is covered under Rule-6 (1) of the IAS (Cadre) Rules-1954, inserted in May 1969.
