2025: The Year of Defence Reforms
On 1st January 2025, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) declared 2025 as the ‘Year of Reforms’ to accelerate the modernisation of the Indian Armed Forces. The initiative aims to enhance jointness, integrate cutting-edge technologies, and streamline acquisition processes.
Focus Areas for Defence Reforms in 2025
- Strengthening inter-service coordination and establishing Integrated Theatre Commands to enable seamless multi-domain operations.
- Advancing capabilities in Cyber, Space, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Hypersonics, and Robotics, along with developing modern warfare tactics and strategies.
