Dhruv-NG Helicopter
On 30th December 2025, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) successfully completed the inaugural flight of the Dhruv New Generation (Dhruv-NG) helicopter in Bengaluru, marking a key step towards its entry into the civil aviation market.
- During the event, HAL received certification from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for the indigenous manufacturing of the Shakti civil engine, clearing a critical milestone for full helicopter certification.
- Designed and manufactured in India, the Dhruv NG is a 5.5-tonne, light twin-engine, multi-role helicopter, engineered to operate across diverse and challenging Indian terrains.
