Eighth-Century Telugu Inscription Unearthed in Andhra Pradesh
Recently, a 8th century Telugu inscription has been discovered in Prakasam district, Andhra Pradesh, offering vital evidence on the evolution of the Telugu language, early public works, and the growing use of Telugu as an administrative and literary medium.
Discovery Site
- The inscription was found at Pitikayagulla village in Bestavaripeta mandal, Prakasam district.
- It is engraved on a stone slab erected in front of the historic Pitikesvara Temple.
