CBSE’s Draft Scheme for Two Examinations
On 10th March 2025, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) proposed a "Draft Scheme for Two Examinations, Class X from 2026”.
The initiative aims to align with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 to:
- Reduce stress among students.
- Provide an additional opportunity to improve scores.
- Promote a holistic assessment model.
What is the proposed Two-Exam Scheme of CBSE?
- The board exams for Classes 10 and 12 will begin on the first Tuesday after February 15 each year.
- Both the examinations will be conducted on the full current syllabus and the text-books.
- Students can take either or both exams, with the highest score considered.
