Nishan-e-Imtiaz for Two Mumbai Doctors

  • On 20th August 2026, Pakistan proposed two Mumbai-based Parsi doctors for its highest civilian honour, Nishan-e-Imtiaz.
  • The proposed honourees are Dr. Jal Ratanji Patel and Dr. Jal Dhaybho-Koo.
  • Dr. Patel was a physician, while Dr. Dhaybho-Koo was a radiologist.
  • Both doctors were associated with Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s medical examination in Bombay in 1946.
  • They examined Jinnah’s X-rays and reportedly diagnosed him with terminal tuberculosis.
