NITI Aayog Report on India’s Services Sector
On 14th August 2026, NITI Aayog released a comprehensive report titled "India's Services Sector: Insights on Regulatory Regime in Professional Services".
- The report evaluates the regulatory architecture governing knowledge-intensive professional services in India to identify structural bottlenecks and enhance global competitiveness.
Key Findings
Services-Led Growth
- The services sector contributed around 55% of India’s Gross Domestic Product/Gross Value Added in Financial Year 2023-24 and nearly 30% of total employment.
- It grew at about 7% Compound Annual Growth Rate between 2011-12 and 2023-24.
Rising Global Competitiveness
- India became the seventh-largest services exporter globally in 2024, increasing its share of global services exports ....
