- Tokyo Olympics champion Neeraj Chopra won the men's javelin silver at the World Athletics Championships 2022 held in Oregon, USA with a best throw of 88.13m in the final.
- He became only the 2nd Indian after Anju Bobby George (Bronze in Long Jump) to win a medal at the world meet.
