Estimates of National Immunisation Coverage for 2022
On 17th July, 2023, the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF released WHO/UNICEF estimates of National Immunization Coverage (WUENIC) 2022 for its 195 member states.
Major Highlights
- The number of children missing out on any vaccination – so-called zero-dose children – improved from 18.1 million in 2021 to 14.3 million in 2022, nearly back to pre-pandemic 2019 level with 12.9 million.
- Coverage of a third dose of vaccine protecting against diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (DTP3) recovered from 81% in 2021 to 84% in 2022.
- The proportion of children receiving a first dose of measles vaccine increased from 81% in 2021 to 83% ....
