It was launched by Ministry of Rural Development in 2017.
It is a convergence and accountability framework aimed at efficient use of resources allocated to 27 ministries/departments under various programmes for the rural development. Gram Panchayat is taken as the focal point of convergence for all schemes.
It carries out survey of households for the above mentioned schemes at gram panchayat level. As per 2019 survey, performance of gram panchayats was judged on 112 parameters.
