The third rank was secured by Junaid Ahmad of Jamia Millia Islamia's Residential Coaching Academy.Junaid Ahmad from Nagina town in Uttar Pradesh's Bijnor district is an IRS officer in training. Ahmed’s choice of subject was Geography. It was his fifth attempt.

"In IRS, one deal with taxation and that is also related to people but an IAS officer can solve people's problems directly. More than an achievement, it is a responsibility," he told.

According to Junaid, “This sense of achievement has come with the burden of responsibility and I now have to work for the people and make sure the schemes of the government reach beneficiaries.”
