With a childhood dream of becoming an IAS officer and a strong resolve of ‘first attempt is last attempt’, Srushti Jayant Deshmukh topped among women candidates, securing the overall fifth rank. She is a BE (Chemical Engineering) from Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal.

Unlike other UPSC aspirants, she did not go to Delhi. She prepared herself at his home town. She prepared for the examination without taking help of any coaching institutes but was in touch with friends at Delhi.

She wants to work for women empowerment and education.
