Interview - Vaishali Singh
Vaishali Singh
UPSC-2018
(8thAIR)
Optional: Law
Vaishali Singh has secured 8th Rank in Civil Services Examination 2018. This was her second attempt. Her optional subject was Law, as she is a law graduate from NLU, Delhi.
The journey of CSE preparation for her was filled with ups and downs, however she kept herself motivated. Initially, she read the basic books and later practiced a large number of mock tests for both prelims and mains - which she opines were the most useful. Throughout the last year she was guided by RK Gupta sir.
To overcome the last hurdle of the CSE, i.e. Interview – she gave a number of mock interviews which helped her in overcoming few weak points and further strengthening her confidence.
Apart from all this, Vaishali studied with consistency, putting in specific number of hours every day. She believes in hard work and says that, “there is to substitute to it, when one is taking up Civil Services Examination”.
She advises the students who are preparing for the exam to identify their strengths as well as weaknesses; and to work on weaknesses in a self correction mode throughout the process to fulfill their dreams.
