A Decade of Soil Health Card Scheme
On 19th February 2025, the Soil Health Card Scheme completed 10 years. It was introduced by Prime Minister on 19th February 2015 at Suratgarh, Rajasthan.
Need for the Scheme
- The scheme was launched to assist State Governments in issuing soil health cards to all farmers in the country.
- A Soil Health Card provides farmers with information about the nutrient status of their soil and recommendations on appropriate nutrient dosages to improve soil health and fertility.
