Swavalambini: Women Entrepreneurship Programme for the Northeast
On 7th February 2025, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), in collaboration with NITI Aayog, launched Swavalambini, a women entrepreneurship programme in Assam, Meghalaya, and Mizoram.
- The initiative aims to empower women in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) by providing entrepreneurial skills, mentorship, and funding support.
Key Highlights
- Stage-wise Entrepreneurial Support: A structured approach covering awareness, training, mentorship, and funding for women-led startups.
- Higher Education Institutions Involved: Implemented across nine HEIs, including Gauhati University, NEHU, Mizoram University, and others.
- Training & Development: 600 female students to undergo a 2-day Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme (EAP), while 300 will receive intensive 40-hour Entrepreneurship Development Programme ....
