Status of Devolution to Panchayats in States
On 13th February 2025, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj released a report, titled “Status of Devolution to Panchayats in States – An Indicative Evidence Based Ranking” in New Delhi.
- The Index evaluates six critical dimensions: 1. Framework, 2. Functions, 3. Finances, 4. Functionaries, 5. Capacity Building, and 6. Accountability of the Panchayats.

- Devolution has increased from 39.9% to 43.9% during the period 2013-14 to 2021-22.
