Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana

On 13th June, 2023, the Prime Minister lauded new initiative of celebrating ‘Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana’ (PMMVY) as ‘God Bharai' ceremony in Dausa, Rajasthan

  • On the occasion all the pregnant women come together and they give them 'Poshan Kit' for the health of their babies.

PMMVY

  • Launched in 2017, it is a centrally sponsored Maternity Benefit Programme (MBP).
  • It provides financial support for Pregnant Women & Lactating Mothers (PW & LM) for improving the health and nutrition for mother and child as well as compensation for wage loss.
