Achievements of Ayushman Bharat Scheme
On 27th December, 2023, the Health Ministry released data related to the achievements under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme.
- Ayushman Bharat, a flagship scheme of Government of India, was launched as recommended by the National Health Policy 2017, to achieve the vision of Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
- This initiative has been designed to meet Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and its underlining commitment to "leave no one behind."
Achievements
- Currently, 55 Crore individuals corresponding to 12 Crore families are covered under the scheme. Many States/UTs implementing AB PM-JAY have further expanded the beneficiary base, at their own cost.
