India Launches ‘Operation Sagar Bandhu’
On 28th November 2025, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) deployed specialised rescue teams and humanitarian aid to Sri Lanka under Operation Sagar Bandhu to support large-scale relief and rescue operations following Cyclone Ditwah.
- Two specialised rescue teams consisting of 80 trained rescuers and four canines were airlifted from Hindon Airbase aboard an IAF IL-76 aircraft, led by Commandant.
- Teams were equipped with inflatable rescue boats, hydraulic cutting and breaching tools, advanced communication systems, medical kits, and essential humanitarian supplies to support evacuation and rescue ....
