GRII: A Global Model to Assess Resilience to Climate Risks
At the recently concluded 26th Conference of Parties (COP 26) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), a global coalition of 10 organisations launched the Global Resilience Index Initiative (GRII).
About GRII
- Public-Private Partnership: GRII is a public-private partnership initiative launched to build a universal model for assessing resilience to climate risks.
- Risk Modelling: It draws upon significant cross-sector risk modelling experience, including public-private partnerships between governments, academia, insurance and engineering.
- Reference Data: It will provide reference data on climate and natural hazard risks to inform and protect populations and economies, particularly in emerging and developing countries, form a ....
