Ambaji White Marble Receives GI Tag
- Ambaji’s sacred white marble has recently been granted a Geographical Indication (GI) Tag by the central government.
- The marble mines of Ambaji are 1,200–1,500 years old, dating back to the period when the Dilwara Jain Temples of Mount Abu were constructed.
- Ambaji marble has been used in temple construction abroad, including in Miami, Los Angeles, Boston, New Zealand, and England.
- Known for its strength and high calcium content, Ambaji marble was also used in building the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
