Global Report on Internal Displacement
On 11th May, 2023, the Internal Displacement Monitoring Centre (IDMC) published its report, titled ‘Global Report on Internal Displacement’.
- IDMC is an International non-governmental organization established in 1998 by the Norwegian Refugee Council in Geneva.
- It is focused on monitoring and providing information and analysis on the world's internally displaced persons (IDPs).
Major Findings
Internal Displacement Broke New Records in 2022
- 71.1 million people were internally displaced worldwide at the end of 2022, a 20 per cent increase in a year and the highest number ever recorded.
