Recently, the Global Wind Energy Council released the Global Wind Report 2022. The report provides a comprehensive overview of the world’s wind energy scenario.
Key Highlights
- Capacity Installed in 2021: The global wind industry had its second-best year in 2021 with almost 94 GW (gigawatt) of capacity added globally, trailing behind the 2020s record growth by only 1.8%.
- New installations in 2021 brought global cumulative wind energy capacity to 837 GW, a year-on-year growth of 12%.
