Investment Friendliness Index 2026

On 17th July 2026, NITI Aayog released the report titled -"Investment Friendliness Index (IFI)".

About the Report

  • The IFI 2026 evaluates the investment ecosystem across 28 States and 8 Union Territories using a composite score of 100 based on 84 indicators and investor perception surveys.
  • It assesses performance across eight pillars: Infrastructure, Business Climate, Resources, Government Policy, Regulatory Ease, Institutional Environment, Financial Health, and Environmental Resilience. States are classified into Top Performers (above 50), Frontrunners (45-50), Emerging Performers (40-45), and Aspiring States (below 40).

Key Findings

  • Top Performers: Gujarat (56.6), Maharashtra (53.7), Tamil Nadu (53.3), Goa (53.1), and Odisha (52.4).
