Performance Grading Index 2.0 for States/UTs
On 7th July 2026, the Union Ministry of Education released the Report on Performance Grading Index 2.0 for States/UTs (PGI-S) for 2025-26.
What is Performance Grading Index (PGI) 2.0?
- The PGI 2.0 is a composite assessment framework developed by the Department of School Education and Literacy (DoSE&L) to evaluate the performance of school education systems across States and Union Territories.
- Introduced in 2017 and revamped as PGI 2.0 in line with the NEP 2020, it promotes evidence-based policymaking, identifies gaps in school education, and enables States/UTs to undertake targeted interventions for improving educational outcomes.
