Indian PM Presented with Tipitaka

On 4th April 2025, during the course of the 6thSummit of BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation), Indian Prime Minister was presented with the Holy Scriptures: “World Ti-pitaka: Sajjhaya Phonetic Edition” by his Thai counterpart, Paetongtarn Shinawatra.

About Tripitaka (Three Baskets)

The Tripitaka, also known as the Pali Canon, is the most essential collection of scriptures in Theravada Buddhism.

  • Pitaka means ‘basket,’ referring to the original palm-leaf manuscripts stored in baskets.
