India-Japan "2+2" Dialogue
On 20th August 2024, India and Japan held their third "2+2" Ministerial Dialogue in New Delhi, marking a significant step in strengthening their strategic and defence partnership amidst rising regional tensions and military assertiveness in the Indo-Pacific.
The Dialogue and Strategic Focus
- High-Level Engagement: The dialogue was led by India’s External Affairs Minister and Defence Minister, alongside Japan’s Foreign Minister and Defence Minister underscoring the importance of high-level diplomatic and defence cooperation.
