Centre Launches Modified UDAN Scheme
On 4th July 2026, the Union Government launched the Modified UDAN Scheme to deepen regional connectivity and build on the achievements of the original UDAN programme.
- The Modified UDAN scheme, announced in the Union Budget 2025-26, is a revamped version of the UDAN (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) initiative.
- Aim: Ensuring affordable air travel, improving connectivity to Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, and promoting both infrastructure development and long-term operational sustainability.
Key Features of Modified UDAN
- Duration: Will operate for 10 years, from FY 2026-27 to FY 2035-36.
