National Committee on Dam Safety (NCDS)
The 12th meeting of the National Committee on Dam Safety (NCDS) was held on 17 July 2026 in New Delhi, under the chairmanship of the Chairman, Central Water Commission (CWC).
- NCDS was constituted under the Dam Safety Act, 2021 as the apex advisory body on dam safety in India.
- Headed by the Chairperson of the Central Water Commission (CWC).
- Ensures the safe surveillance, inspection, operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of specified dams.
- Advises the Central Government on dam safety policies, regulations, and technical standards.
