Devnimori Relics of Lord Buddha
On 11th February 2026, the sacred Devnimori relics of Lord Buddha returned to India following a week-long public exposition at the Gangaramaya Temple in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
- The Holy Relics were taken abroad for their first-ever international exposition.
Devnimori Relics: An Overview
Origin Site
- The relics were discovered at the Devnimori archaeological site near Shamlaji in Gujarat’s Aravalli district, a location of great significance as an ancient Buddhist center.
Excavation History
- The site was first scientifically explored in 1957 by Prof. S. N. Chowdhry.
