Government Notifies New SEZs in Puducherry

On 29th May 2026, the Government notified two new Special Economic Zones (SEZs) in the Union Territory of Puducherry.

About Two Newly Approved SEZs

1. IT/ITES Special Economic Zone (SEZ)

  • Developer: Oulgaret Municipality.
  • Location: Thattanchavady village, Oulgaret Taluk, Puducherry.
  • Unique Feature: Will be the first SEZ in India to be developed by an Urban Local Body (ULB).

2. Multi-Sector Special Economic Zone (SEZ)

  • Developer: Pondicherry Industrial Promotion Development and Investment Corporation (PIPDIC).
  • Location: Karasur village, Villianur Taluk, Puducherry.
