Answer: Public interest refers to practicing interest of public over personal interest. The principle of public interest is based on the notion that, "For overall development of state, it is necessary to hold public interest above personal interest".
Public interest aims to ensure welfare of people in socio-economic sphere. It aims to deliver services and goods to each and every section of society.
