On 10th October 2025, the report on Vital Statistics of India was published by the office the Registrar General, India (Union Ministry of Home Affairs).

  • The Vital Statistics of India, based on Civil Registration System (CRS) 2023, provides a nationwide picture of the country’s birth and death registrations, institutional births, and sex ratio at birth.

What is CRS?

Civil Registration System (CRS) is the unified process of continuous, permanent, compulsory, and universal recording of vital events (births, deaths, stillbirths) and characteristics thereof.
