Disaster Mitigation & Capacity Building: Centre Approves Funds
On 26th November 2024, a High-Level Committee, chaired by Union Home Minister approved Rs. 1115.67 crore for disaster mitigation and capacity building projects aimed at enhancing India's disaster resilience.
Key Points
- The High-Level Committee (HLC) has approved the National Landslide Risk Mitigation project in 15 States at a total cost of Rs. 1000 crore.
- Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal are included in this project.
- The HLC also approved Rs. 115.67 crore for the training and capacity building of civil defence volunteers across all States and UTs under ....
