US Approves Maritime Security Deal with India
On 30th April 2025, the United States approved a foreign military sale worth USD 131 million.
- The sale aims to enhance India’s ability to monitor maritime threats and strengthen its presence in the Indo-Pacific.
- This package is part of the Quad’s Indo-Pacific Maritime Domain Awareness (IPMDA) initiative.
Key Highlights of the Deal
- The deal includes SeaVision software, software enhancements, and technical training.
- India will also receive remote software and analytic support, logistics, and program assistance.
- Hawkeye 360, based in Herndon, Virginia, will be the principal contractor.
