India and Netherlands Upgrade Ties to Strategic Partnership
On 16-17 May 2026, India and Netherlands elevated bilateral relations to a Strategic Partnership during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to The Hague.
- Both sides signed 17 agreements and MoUs covering water management, agriculture, health, semiconductors, renewable energy, critical minerals, and mobility cooperation.
Key Areas of Cooperation
- Annual high-level political dialogue and Foreign Ministers’ meetings.
- Expansion of trade and investment in renewable energy, semiconductors, maritime sector, infrastructure & pharmaceuticals.
- Cooperation in Critical Raw Materials (CRM) for resilient supply chains.
Water, Agriculture and Health
- Renewal of Strategic Partnership on Water.
- Collaboration in:
- Flood resilience
- Ganga Basin management
- Climate-resilient agriculture
- Digital health
- One Health approach
